Job Title: Linux System EngineerAs a seasoned expert in the field of system administration, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimizing our global production infrastructure. This entails ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across multiple sites, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving automation and performance improvements.You'll be the first point of contact for incidents, contribute to architecture design, and support seamless product rollouts while adhering to industry-standard operational practices.A key aspect of this position is building strong partnerships across the organization to foster collaboration between Product, Engineering, and Operations teams.Key Responsibilities:Manage an international 24x7, multi-site production infrastructure powering our services, including deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security.Root-cause complex problems and involve multiple stakeholders, network, hardware, and software related to scaling and performance.Ensure proper monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and reporting in the production environment.Contribute to the evolving design and architecture of reliable and scalable infrastructure.Participate in on-call rotations and be willing to jump on escalated issues as needed.Required Skills and Qualifications:Demonstrable expertise in managing, troubleshooting, and tuning Linux systems, with at least 5+ years of experience.A friendly and collaborative demeanor, working well with cross-functional teams.Experience automating management of systems and applications using Perl, Python, or Ruby.Industry-standard foundation technologies such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SMTP, and LDAP.Management of large, distributed computing environments.Virtualization – KVM, VMware vSphere, and/or OpenStack.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Monitoring and alerting systems.Industry-standard operational practices such as change management, incident management, and working in colocation datacenters.Configuration management such as Puppet or Chef.Load-balancing technologies – F5, Netscaler or similar desired.Kafka, Elastic Search, Cassandra, and MySQL desired.
