Job descriptionJob Title: Data EngineerLocation: Remote / BangaloreJob Type: Full-TimeExperience: 4–5 yearsStart Date: ImmediateJob SummaryWe are looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer with strong Python experience and deep expertise in PySpark and dbt Labs (dbt Core / dbt Cloud). These two skills are the primary focus of the role. You will design, build, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, transform data using dbt, and process large datasets using PySpark across cloud platforms. Your work will directly enable reliable, scalable, and analytics-ready data systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, PySpark, and dbtBuild, test, document, and optimize dbt models for analytics and BI use casesDevelop distributed data processing jobs using PySpark for large-scale datasetsWork with cloud-based tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or equivalent AWS/GCP services.Implement robust data validation, cleansing, and transformation processesCreate optimized data models and transformation layers following best practicesAutomate workflows, monitoring, and pipeline orchestrationCollaborate with cross-functional teams—data engineers, analysts, and data scientistsMaintain detailed documentation of data pipelines, workflows, and dependenciesRequired Qualifications4–5 years of strong Python experience (must-have)Hands-on experience with PySpark (must-have) for distributed data processingPractical experience with dbt Labs (dbt Core or dbt Cloud) (must-have)Proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT processesExperience with cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCPUnderstanding of data modeling, warehousing, and transformation techniquesExposure to big data tools like Spark, Airflow or similarFamiliarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDBStrong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and collaboration abilitiesPreferred SkillsExperience with Git or similar version control toolsExposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and container-based deploymentsExperience with CI/CD pipelines for data workflowsKnowledge of Kafka or other streaming toolsWhat We OfferOpportunity to work on innovative, real-world data engineering projectsA collaborative, learning-oriented team cultureProfessional growth and development supportFlexible working hours and remote work optionsHow to ApplyPlease send your resume and cover letter highlighting your Python, PySpark, and dbt labs experience to hr@nyx.today.
