Role OverviewA Tax Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with US tax regulations and providing advisory services. This includes managing IRS correspondence/representation, tax planning, and specialized filings.US returns preparation/review for individuals and businesses in accordance with federal and state requirementsExpatriate/international return preparation and filing as applicable: 1116, 2555, FBAR, 8938, 5471; advising on tax treaties, residency issues, FATCA/FBAR complianceTrust and franchise tax returns preparation/review; support SALT compliance and state filings where necessary1099 generation and year-end contractor reporting workflows managementTax law updates monitoring, technical research performance, and translation of information into client-ready guidance and compliant filingsIRS notice handling from start to finish, including penalty/interest abatement using POAClient representation before IRS Revenue Officers for Offer in Compromise and Installment Agreements; initiation of Taxpayer Advocate Service cases when requiredDelivering tax planning and savings strategies, including real estate tax planning and coordination/support for cost segregation work to accelerate depreciationProviding tax consultations, documenting technical conclusions, and tailoring solutions by understanding the client's financial situationManagement of outsourced tax preparation projects for US-based clients (coordination, quality review, and timely delivery)
