Job Description PAM (Payment Authorization and Monitoring) Tools Team is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer who can drive Test Automation and will be part of the development team responsible for understanding, defining, analyzing and coding tools and utilities which has many internal and external users. We are looking for a candidate with experience (2-5 years) specific to Web Application Testing having strong understanding of Software Testing frameworks like JUnit or TestNG along with a commanding expertise over Selenium and Playwright for UI automation. The Software Engineer must have solid understanding of Rest Assured for API testing, understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, and JSON/XML parsing and familiarity with build tools like Maven or Gradle for project dependency management and build automation. It is very much desired that the candidate must have a good knowledge and experience on object-oriented programming (OOP) while supporting, leading, and training in software management use with little or no direction. This would include all aspects such as analyzing, designing, coding and unit testing core modules of the new Online application and working with a global team of developers, SMEs and architects. The candidate would be a part of a high-performance global team responsible for the delivery of features in Visa Client Product Test Tool application. As a key member of the delivery execution team, candidate would need to create scalable designs, write maintainable code, reusable components/services/utilities, and test cases. Qualifications include good organizational skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good time management skills, ability to work independently, and effectively communicate with team members. The candidate must be capable of working in all phases of the application system development life cycle. The successful candidate will become a recognized Subject Matter Expert within Visa, responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of Visa Client Product Test Tool application.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate test plans, test cases, and test scriptsExecute and report on the full testing suite of both manual and automated testsDevelop and maintain UI automation scripts using Java, Selenium, and PlaywrightEnsure the robustness and reusability of the automation frameworksCreate and manage API automation scripts using Java and Rest AssuredValidate and verify APIs for functionality, reliability, performance, and securityConfigure and manage Jenkins pipelines for continuous integration and deploymentConfigure and maintain automation jobs on remote machines via JenkinsUtilize Git and GitHub for version control, branching, and mergingCollaborate with team members through code reviews and pull requestsSetup, configure, and maintain test environmentsParticipate in deploying code to QA servers on Linux systemsTroubleshoot and resolve issues on Linux systems as necessaryWrite and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity and perform backend testingCollaborate with the development team to ensure proper database structure and indexingWork closely with both Development and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and deliveryParticipate actively in all phases of the development process, including planning, design, implementation, and testingWrite clean, efficient, and maintainable codeFollow best practices for coding, automation, and framework designWork effectively with test lead and test engineers and acquire technical guidance from peers as appropriateThis is a hybrid position. Qualifications Basic Qualifications- 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)Preferred Qualifications- 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts, experience with Java collections, exceptions, and file I/O- Strong understanding of testing frameworks like JUnit or TestNG- Strong experience with Selenium and Playwright for UI automation- Solid understanding of Rest Assured for API testing, understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, and JSON/XML parsing- Familiarity with build tools like Maven or Gradle for project dependency management and build automation- Strong expertise with Jenkins for CI/CD- Competence in using Git and GitHub for source code management- Familiarity with IDEs (e.g. Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ, etc.)- Good understanding of Linux systems and command-line tools- Proficiency in SQL for writing and executing queries- Ability to work effectively in a DevOps environment where Dev and QA collaborate closely- Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and analytical skills- Strong oral and written communications skills- Constantly strive to learn new technologies and look for ways to stay up to date in this rapidly changing industry Additional Information Visa is an EEO Employer.
