Backend Engineer PositionWe are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend services that process high volumes of data reliably and efficiently.Job Responsibilities:Design and Build Scalable Services: Develop and implement efficient algorithms and data structures to handle large datasets.Develop Event-Driven Architectures: Design and implement event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing pipelines to ensure real-time data processing.Build and Improve APIs: Develop and optimize RESTful APIs to power our dashboard, integrations, and external developer SDKs.Implement Robust Data Storage Patterns: Ensure performance, security, and isolation in multi-tenant SaaS platforms.Collaborate with the ML/AI Team: Integrate AI capabilities into production systems efficiently.Design Monitoring Systems: Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability systems to ensure high availability and rapid incident response.Contribute to Security Best Practices: Implement authentication, authorization, and secure credential management.Participate in Architecture Decisions: Contribute to architecture decisions and establish engineering standards as the team grows.Minimum Requirements:Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, 5+ years of backend engineering experience.Language Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Python or similar backend languages.Cloud Experience: Experience with cloud platforms and serverless architectures.Database Knowledge: Solid understanding of NoSQL databases, data modeling, and query optimization.API Building Skills: Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.Event-Driven Architecture: Familiarity with event-driven architectures, message queues, and asynchronous processing patterns.Security Fundamentals: Understanding of security fundamentals: authentication, encryption, secrets management.Preferred Skills:SaaS Experience: Experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms.Infrastructure-as-Code: Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.Third-Party API Integration: Experience integrating with third-party APIs and OAuth flows.Cost Optimization: Knowledge of cost optimization strategies for cloud infrastructure.Billing System: Experience with billing systems and subscription management.Text Data Processing: Background in processing text data or working alongside ML/NLP systems.Why Join Us?As a Backend Engineer at our company, you will have the opportunity to work on critical backend systems that directly impact product quality and customer experience.Our team is small, but we have a significant impact on the platform's future.
