About the Role - The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance process for our e-commerce web application. This role involves designing and executing test plans, identifying defects, and working closely with development teams to ensure that our digital products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability.



Responsibilities



  • Develop and document comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web portals and mobile applications based on functional and non-functional requirements
  • Perform manual testing of web portals and mobile applications, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Design and implement automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Appium, Cypress or similar to improve testing efficiency and coverage
  • Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla). Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Work closely with developers, product managers, and UX/UI designers to understand requirements, identify potential issues, and ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle
  • Provide detailed test reports and metrics, including test results, defect status, and quality assessments. Highlight areas of concern and suggest improvements
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of test processes, methodologies, and results. Ensure that test artifacts are accessible
  • To read all the documents and understand what needs to be tested
  • Based on the information procured in the above step, decide how it is to be tested
  • Inform the test lead about what all resources will be required for software testing
  • Develop test cases and prioritize testing activities
  • Execute all the test cases and report defects, define severity and priority for each defect
  • Carry out regression testing every time when changes are made to the code to fix defects


Qualifications - Education details

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field


Required Skills



  • 3-5 years of proven experience in Manual and Automation testing techniques
  • Experience on ecommerce
  • An attention to detail
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)
  • Good to have experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, or similar
  • A must have understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and mobile platforms (iOS, Android)
  • Hands-on experience in testing multiple form factor websites
  • Willingness to learn new tools and techniques as required
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies
  • Attention to detail and a knack for identifying subtle issues
  • Hands-on experience in manual and automated testing
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
  • Good to have - Knowledge of SQL and databases
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders
  • Clear documentation and reporting of defects and issues
  • Adaptability to changing requirements and environments
  • Critical thinking and proactive approach to potential issues
