Position Title: Associate – Project Risk & Credit Solutions Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka About the Company: Sustainability Economics is a global organisation targeting the markets of US, Japan, EU, UK, Canada and Singapore. Role Summary: We are looking for a motivated professional to join our Project Finance & Risk Structuring team , focusing on risk mitigation strategies, credit enhancement mechanisms, and bankability improvements for large-scale infrastructure projects. This role will involve designing and implementing solutions such as guarantees, insurance wraps, blended finance, securitisation, and innovative credit structures to attract investors and lenders into projects in AI data centres, clean energy, and sustainable infrastructure . Key Tasks & Accountability: Risk Mitigation and Structuring: · Identify and analyze risks across project lifecycle (construction, operational, market, offtake, and regulatory risks) . · Propose and structure credit enhancement mechanisms such as guarantees, insurance covers, liquidity facilities, or subordinated tranches. · Understanding of all stakeholders involved in the entire process of issuance of instruments. · Identify and analyse the potential risks associated with specific instruments issuance. Credit Enhancement & Financial Structuring: · Design structures to improve creditworthiness and rating of project vehicles. · Evaluate blended finance opportunities (e.g., concessional capital, guarantees, green bonds). · Conduct stress testing and scenario modelling to measure the impact of risk mitigants. · Evaluate and interpret credit ratings from major agencies, understanding their impact on investment decisions, analysing the impact of changes in credit ratings on portfolios. Education and Experience: Domain expertise and qualifications include, but are not limited to: · Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Law, or Engineering; MBA, CFA, or FRM preferred · 4–8 years of experience in project finance, credit risk, structured finance, or infrastructure advisory · Climate specific financial instruments knowledge is a plus · Familiarity with credit enhancement tools (guarantees, wraps, insurance, blended finance). · Prior exposure to energy, infrastructure, or data centre projects desirable. · Strong financial modelling and risk analysis capabilities. Skills: · Understanding of credit risk modelling and expertise in credit risk assessment, including the ability to analyze financial statements and evaluate creditworthiness of companies. · Knowledge of international financing structures and capital markets. Personal Attributes: · A team player with good interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities. · A self-motivator and a collaborative team player. · Excellent time management skills and the ability to assume leadership roles when necessary. · Agile, action oriented and a quick learner. · Out of box thinker.
