Database Engineer RoleWe are seeking a skilled Database Engineer to design, optimize, and scale database systems powering high-growth applications.Develop and maintain MySQL database schemas, queries, views, triggers, and stored procedures.Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, caching, and load balancing techniques.Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate MySQL within Node.js services.Contribute to backend development using JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and Express.js.Evaluate data integrity, security, backups, and high availability requirements.Participate in system design discussions and propose scalable database solutions.Analyze and troubleshoot database-related issues.To succeed in this role:You will require 3–6 years of hands-on experience with MySQL, including query writing, optimization, schema design, and performance improvements.A strong understanding of relational database concepts, normalization, indexing strategies, and execution plans is necessary.Experience working on high-scale, high-growth product-based companies is preferred.You should be able to design efficient, scalable database structures for B2C applications.A strong analytical mindset, enabling you to understand why a certain approach is more optimal, not just how to implement it, is required.Previous experience working in fast-paced startup environments where performance and speed matter is beneficial.Familiarity with database monitoring tools and performance dashboards is advantageous.Ability to optimize systems for speed, scalability, and reliability is crucial.
