As a Game Designer at Scopely , you will work closely with our Product and Production teams on game development and strategy. You will balance both quantitative and qualitative insights to design and optimize smart, engaging features for our active and growing user base. Responsibilities include:Create clear and comprehensive feature documentation, including diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, and detailed design specificationsAnalyze live player data and feedback to optimize gameplay experiences and inform future feature developmentWrite engaging editorial content such as in-game fiction, feature descriptions, copywriting, and tutorialsStay up to date with industry trends, emerging genres, and competitor products to identify new opportunitiesConduct competitor research and regularly playtest games to benchmark and inspire design improvementsReview and provide feedback on both your own work and the team's output to ensure quality and continuous improvementDevelop initial concept documents based on market research and present pitches to stakeholdersDefine and manage the creative direction of games throughout development and the full product lifecycleLead the design and execution of multiple game projects, ensuring alignment with business and product goalsCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, art, sound, QA, data analytics, product, and management) to bring designs from concept to implementationDesign and manage promotional campaigns to support product launches and re-engagement effortsModel, balance, and tune complex game systems in collaboration with mathematiciansAnalyze data in collaboration with our analysts, draw actionable conclusions, and design features that respond to player behavior and performance insightsWhat We're Looking For2+ years game design experience for a shipped productDesigned games from conception to completionAbility to analyze gameplay mechanics and feature designsExperience and interest with player-driven economiesAble to design game systems, individual gameplay features & player progressionsUnderstanding of game balance, including statistics, virtual goods, economics and user motivationsUnderstanding of interaction design concepts and principlesAble to excel in an agile team environmentOutstanding written and oral communicationExperience writing product specificationsA passion for playing and making video gamesBachelor's degree required; game design degree a plusAt Scopely, we create games for everyone - and want to ensure that the people behind our games reflect that We are committed to creating a diverse, supportive work environment where everyone is treated with respect.
