The role combines hands-on ownership of accounts and controls with business partnering to improve profitability and cash flows.Key responsibilitiesLead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing, ensuring accurate books, reconciliations, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.Prepare and review financial statements, MIS, and dashboards, highlighting key trends, variances, and business insights.Own budgeting and forecasting processes, including annual operating plan, rolling forecasts, and scenario analysis.Track budget vs actuals, perform variance analysis, and work with functional heads to drive cost discipline and margin improvement.Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury activities, including payables, receivables, and liquidity planning.Establish and strengthen internal controls, documentation, and SOPs across finance processes.Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants to ensure timely completion of audits, filings, and statutory compliances.Oversee payroll inputs from a finance perspective and ensure accuracy of employee-related provisions and reimbursements.Evaluate business cases, new initiatives, pricing, and contracts from a financial viability and ROI standpoint.Implement and optimize finance tools/ERPs, and improve automation and reporting efficiency.Build and mentor a small finance team; ensure strong review mechanisms, training, and clear ownership.Qualifications and experienceChartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional qualification; MBA in Finance is an added advantage.5+ years of total experience in finance and accounting, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or lead role in startup.Strong exposure to management reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis; experience in a startup / high-growth environment is preferred.Solid understanding of Indian accounting standards, direct and indirect taxes, and regulatory compliances relevant to the business.Hands-on experience with accounting software Zohobooks and advanced Excel/Sheets skills.Skills and competenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Ability to partner with business teams and communicate financial insights in simple, actionable terms.High ownership, integrity, and reliability under tight deadlines.Capability to design and improve processes, controls, and reporting frameworks.Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced, and ambiguous environment.Location and reportingLocation: HSR layout, BangaloreReporting to: Finance ControllerWork from Office ( 5days a week)
