The opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Server Database Developer with a minimum of five years of hands-on expertise in Microsoft SQL Server SSIS and SSRS. As a Database Developer, he/she will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and database architecture for our organization
How you’ll spend your day
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into technical specifications for ETL processes and reports. Develop and maintain ETL processes using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to extract data from various sources, transform it into the desired format, and load it into target databases. Design, create, and manage Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports. Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity by fine-tuning queries, creating indexes, and monitoring database health. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. Continuously enhance and maintain existing ETL workflows, reports, and data models to meet evolving business requirements. Contribute to the development of data governance and data quality initiatives to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Troubleshoot and provide production support of existing processes. Provide regular project updates to business analysts and management. Develop and maintain system documentation. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and technologies related to ETL, data warehousing, and reporting.Your experience and qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 7+ years relevant development experience. Minimum of five years of professional experience as a SQL Server Database Developer, specializing in ETL processes and database architecture using Microsoft SQL Server SSIS and SSRS. Proficiency in SQL scripting and experience with complex queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization techniques. Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and database design principles. Proven ability to work with large datasets and handle data integration challenges effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Willing to work US hours on as needed basis for critical meetings Minimal travel (less than 10%)Skills and Capabilities
Demonstrated experience of project estimation and planning. Excellent written and verbal communication skills ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good organizational and time management skills, ability to be flexible, set priorities and meet deadlines in a changing environment. Commercial pharmaceuticals industry experience and knowledge a plus. Proficiency with MS Office tools and applications. SQL Development skills (Required). Vertica database skills (Preferred). Informatica Power Center and MDM (Preferred). Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server experience (Optional). RPA Automation (Optional). Familiarity or experience with Salesforce or Veeva CRM (Optional). Use of Pragmatic Works Task Factory (Optional). Fluent English – reading, writing, speaking-
