Position Title: L2/L3 Networking Protocols Test Engineer – Python AutomationLocation: BangaloreExperience Required: 5+ YearsEmployment Type: Full-TimeRole Overview:We are looking for a skilled and motivated Test Engineer with strong expertise in L2/L3 networking protocols and Python-based automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating complex networking features, automating test cases, and ensuring high-quality software delivery for embedded and networking products.Key Responsibilities:- Design and execute manual and automated test cases for L2/L3 networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, VLAN, OSPF, BGP, MPLS).- Develop and maintain Python automation scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing.- Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.- Perform packet-level analysis using tools like Wireshark, Scapy, or similar.- Validate protocol compliance, interoperability, and scalability under various network conditions.- Contribute to test strategy, test planning, and test documentation.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, QA, and system engineering.- Participate in continuous integration and Dev Ops workflows for automated testing.Required Skills:- 5+ years of experience in manual and automated testing of networking products.- Strong understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols and their real-world applications.- Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and test framework development.- Experience with networking test tools (e.g., IXIA, Spirent, Wireshark).- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.- Good analytical and debugging skills.- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with embedded networking systems or network appliances.- Exposure to SDN/NFV, virtualization, or cloud networking is a plus.- Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git Lab CI.- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field.- Certifications like CCNA/CCNP or equivalent are an advantage.
