Enterprise Mainframe Systems ProfessionalWe are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Mainframe Systems Professional to join our team.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced systems programmer with expertise in z/OS, z/VM, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, ISPF, RACF, JCL, REXX, VTAM, TCP/IP, USS, and z/Linux.Mainframe System AdministrationInstall, upgrade, configure, and maintain z/OS and subsystems (JES2, RACF, CICS, DB2, IMS) to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.Manage system updates, PTFs, APARs using SMP/E to prevent downtime and ensure business continuity.Conduct thorough analysis and testing of system upgrades and maintenance activities to guarantee compatibility and stability across releases.Performance Optimization and Capacity PlanningMonitor and analyze CPU, memory, and I/O performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.Tune WLM, Sysplex, and critical components to optimize system performance and efficiency.Develop and implement capacity planning strategies to ensure adequate system resources and recommend hardware upgrades as needed.Security and Compliance ManagementAdminister RACF and enforce security policies to protect sensitive data and systems from unauthorized access.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as SOX, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of security best practices.Implement and manage security patches and mitigate vulnerabilities to prevent cyber threats.Storage and Backup ManagementManage DFSMS, VSAM, HSM, and storage tools to optimize disk and tape storage usage and ensure efficient data management.Oversee backups, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions to ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or disasters.Develop and implement strategies to improve storage efficiency and reduce costs.Incident Management and TroubleshootingDiagnose and resolve system abends and bottlenecks using analytical skills and technical expertise.Analyze dumps, logs, and traces to identify root causes of system issues and develop effective solutions.Collaborate with IBM support and vendors to resolve complex technical issues and ensure timely resolution of system problems.Automation and ScriptingDevelop automation scripts using REXX, JCL, CLIST, and Ansible to improve system efficiency and reduce manual labor.Improve monitoring, job scheduling, and automation processes to streamline system administration tasks and enhance overall system performance.Develop and implement automation strategies to improve system reliability and reduce downtime.Disaster Recovery and High AvailabilityDesign and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or disasters.Maintain parallel sysplex configurations and failover settings to ensure seamless system failover in case of primary system failure.Documentation and Knowledge SharingMaintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation of system configuration, software versions, and other relevant information.Share knowledge and expertise with junior team members through mentoring and training to enhance their skills and knowledge.
