Job Purpose To manage Research Farm Activities for RBEL on identified land parcels To develop, implement, and monitor strategies that protect crops from biotic (disease, pests, and pathogens), ensuring optimal crop health and productivity. To maintain the R&D trials of various varieties of Hybrid Napier and other bio-energy crops disease-free Validate SOPs on the Package of practices for pests and diseases and improve them for optimal yield. Work with crop breeder and agronomist to develop new crop protection products or methods.Qualification:Necessary: Masters degree in Agriculture with specialization in Plant Pathology, Entomology, and Crop ProtectionDesirable: Knowledge & Skill in Maintaining a Research Farm and related operations Good people management Skills ExperienceNecessary years of hands-on experience in Pest and disease identification and implementing crop protection strategies Deep understanding of pest life cycles, disease symptoms, and control methods.Desirable Familiarity with chemical, biological, and organic crop protection techniquesThorough knowledge in Field operations, Job Accountabilities Identify Seasonal Diseases occurring on the Bio-Energy crops and the appropriate management methods Take up Trials for Screening of Bio-Energy crops for Biotic stress tolerance particularly Plant diseases. Identify and co-ordinate with national and international experts on energy plantations and collaborate for a win-win partnership Maintenance of farm, encompassing all the Plant protection practices timely that facilitate growth Development of standard Pest & Disease Management practices in bio-Energy crops and the resultant yield and quality expectations. Development of systems & procedures of R&D data recording & analysis. Monitoring the plots established as demonstration plots for disease free yields at all the R&D locations Crisis management at field level and ensuring resolution of all disputes that might arise while engaging with farmers.Ensuring digitally driven MIS is implemented on ground.
