As a DevOps Engineer you need to work with developers and the IT Infrastructure team tooversee the code releases, combining an understanding of both engineering and coding.From creating and implementing systems software to analyzing data to improve existing ones.As DevOps Engineer increases you need to contribute productivity in the workplace. Detailedmanagement and monitoring of H/W, S/W platforms.Roles and Responsibilities● Documentation: Writes specifications and documentation for the server-side features.● Systems analysis: Analyzes the technology currently being used and develops plans andprocesses for improvement and expansion. The DevOps engineer provides support forurgent analytic needs.● Development: Develops, codes, builds, installs, configures, and maintains IT solutions.● Project planning: Participates in project planning meetings to share their knowledge ofsystem options, risk, impact, and costs vs. benefits. In addition, DevOps engineerscommunicate operational requirements and development forecasts.● Testing: Tests code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline andminimize errors.● Deployment: Uses configuration management software to automatically deploy updatesand fixes into the production environment.● Maintenance and troubleshooting: Performs routine application maintenance to ensurethe production environment runs smoothly. Develops maintenance requirements andprocedures.● Performance management: Recommends performance enhancements by performinggap analysis, identifying alternative solutions, and assisting with modifications.● Management: Depending on the size of the organization, the DevOps engineer may alsobe responsible for managing a team of DevOps engineers.● On Prem & Cloud – Infrastructure Management, Streaming data, Database, Back up,Restore, Business Continuity management.
