Job Title: Senior Database AdministratorThis role is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of database systems, ensuring their reliability, security, and optimal performance. The successful candidate will be a senior member of the team, mentoring junior database administrators and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data persistence strategies that support business objectives and data-driven initiatives.Lead the design, development, and implementation of database systems to meet business requirements and industry best practices.Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and other techniques to ensure efficient data access and system response times.Implement and maintain data security measures, including access controls, data encryption, and regular security audits.Develop and maintain database backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure the availability and integrity of data assets.Monitor database systems for performance issues, proactively identifying and resolving problems to minimize downtime and maintain system reliability.Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and software developers to integrate database solutions with data pipelines, analytics platforms, and software applications.Mentor and guide junior database administrators, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.Required Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.8-10 years of experience in database administration roles, with a strong understanding of relational and NoSQL database systems.Expert knowledge of database management systems, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.Strong SQL and query tuning skills, experience with database optimization techniques.Strong understanding of data security and privacy best practices and regulations, including GDPR and CCPA.Experience with database backup and disaster recovery planning and implementation.Familiarity with cloud-based database services, such as AWS RDS or Azure SQL Database.Familiarity with vector databases and embedding workflows, semantic search, and hybrid search strategies.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.Outstanding communication and leadership abilities.Benefits:Competitive compensation package.Schedule flexibility.Wellness programs, including fitness clubs, gym membership, and athletic shoe reimbursements.On-site physician and massage therapist.Why Work Here?This company values exceptional teamwork, recognizing contributions, encouraging professional development, and offering a unique culture.
