API Management EngineerAbout the Role:We are seeking an experienced API Management Engineer to lead our team in designing and implementing a scalable, secure, and robust API ecosystem using IBM's API management technologies.Key Responsibilities:Designing APIs: Build high-quality APIs using IBM API Connect, DataPower gateways, or equivalent API management platforms.Defining Governance Policies: Establish API governance policies, including authentication/authorization, rate limits, quotas, versioning, and lifecycle management.Managing the API Gateway: Handle the API gateway, including routing, transformation, orchestration, protocol mediation, and traffic control.Setting up the Developer Portal: Configure and maintain the developer portal, publishing APIs, onboarding internal/external consumers, documentation, self-service subscription.Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor API usage, performance, latency, error metrics; analyze usage patterns and production issues.API Security and Resilience: Ensure API security and resilience, including secure back-end integrations, payload validation, threat mitigation, high-availability.Staying Current: Stay up-to-date with API management best practices, emerging protocols (GraphQL, WebSockets), and evolving IBM tool capabilities.Requirements:Strong Technical Skills: Excellent technical skills and expertise in API management.Excellent Collaboration and Communication Abilities: Strong collaboration and communication abilities, and a passion for staying current with industry trends.
