With a combination of industry-leading tools, services, and expertise, only Black Duck helps organizations maximize security and quality in DevSecOps and throughout the software development life cycle.Summary of the role:We are looking for a staff engineer, passionate about creating great products for customers, cares about working in a vibrant team, and is passionate about developing easy-to-use software that integrates well into a developer's IDE.Our Desktop UI applications are the front end to Black Duck's state-of-the-art research products, including Static Analysis and Software Composition Analysis.We are changing the way secure and quality software is delivered.You will be accountable for improving and extending the user interface experience that thousands of developers will use and helping drive the IDE plugin development for our next-generation IDE integrations.This will include supporting a variety of IDE's, such as Visual Studio, IntelliJ, and Eclipse.Responsibilities:Work in a team of 5+ software developersHelp the team work effectively and efficiently in producing products for our customersFostering a collaborative culture of continuous learning and improvementDesign, Implement and drive features for the Code Sight plug-ins for multiple IDEs on supported platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux)Collaborate and align with the North American team to build product featuresLearn, follow, and enhance overall architecture that meets strategic goals and roadmapsPromote ideas and solicit input from team members on innovation, technology, quality, and productivity.Promote great design, reliability, and testability to improve the rate of development of new products and minimize the cost of ongoing support of new and existing products.Use agile software development practices to ensure ongoing quality improvement to products and processesRequirements:Requires a bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in a software developer roleGoal-oriented developer who anticipates the implications of situations, and takes appropriate action as needed and prepare for contingenciesAbility to manage multiple concurrent projects/tasksPassionate about creating an exceptional user experience5+ years' experience in C# and/or JavaExperienced in software architecture/design and writing technical specificationsExcellent object-oriented development and development testing skillsComfortable using command line tools and shell scriptingSelf-motivated with a track record of regular learningExposure to prompt engineering and AI Vibe CodingMust experience - Java or C#, Typescript and Golang.Nice to Have:Visual Studio, Eclipse and/or IntelliJ plugin development experienceBackground in user interface technologies and designExperience using WPF, SWT, Swing or Web-Services technologiesExperience with Windows, Mac and Linux platforms Black Duck considers all applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender preference, national origin, age, disability, or status as a Covered Veteran in accordance with federal law.
