Job Title: EMC simulation Engineer

Location: Whitefield, Bangalore

Experience Required: 5 to 8 years

Job Summary: We are seeking EMI & EMC simulation engineer with good basics in EM theory, EM coupling mechanism, modelling of ESD, RE, CE and other immunity behavior. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in extraction of transmission line, modelling of noise sources using one or more industry standard tools such as ADS, HFSS, CST.. This role requires a deep understanding of EMI & EMC principles and hands-on experience with industry-standard simulation tools.

Key Responsibilities:

EMI & EMC Simulation and Testing:

  • EMI/EMC simulation for RE, RI, CE, CI, ESD (Gun Modeling), BCI, and familiar with standards such as CISPER, IEC.
  • Conduct electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) simulations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Knowledge about SSN, Ground bounce and basic understanding of the switching loop of PMIC/Buck regulator.
  • EMC issues DC/DC buck boost converter, Inverter, Cable Harness, Power Supply, EMI Filter
  • Perform EMI & EMC testing and debugging to identify and mitigate potential issues.
  • Utilize tools such as Ansys SIwave, HFSS, CST Microwave studio, H Spice, Cadence Sigrity (2.5D and 3D-EM), Mentor Graphics Hyperlynx and ADS for comprehensive EMI & EMC analysis.

Power Delivery Network (PDN) Analysis:

  • Analyze impedance profiles and perform IR drop analysis for PCB and package designs.
  • Model PCB and package shapes and conduct time domain analysis to optimize power delivery.

Design Support:

  • Provide practical solutions and recommendations to the PCB/package design team based on simulation results and analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design robustness and performance.

Tool Proficiency:

  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in simulation tools Ansys SIwave, HFSS, Hspice, Sigrity (2.5D and 3D-EM), and ADS.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in simulation technologies and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of EMC simulation experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in signal integrity and hands-on experience in PCB modeling.
  • In-depth knowledge of power delivery networks, impedance profile analysis, and IR drop analysis.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools such as Ansys SIwave, HFSS, Hspice, Sigrity, and ADS.
  • Hands-on experience in EMI & EMC simulation, testing, and debugging.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to provide practical design solutions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements for EMI & EMC.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
