About the Role: The Head of Global Steel and Scrap Business Development will lead efforts to generate new business for Mitra SK’s testing and inspection services in the steel and scrap sectors. The role involves expanding client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and managing local regulatory liaison activities from the Delhi office. This position requires a strong understanding of the global steel and scrap industries and the ability to promote Mitra SK’s expertise in quality control services.



Responsibilities:



Business Development:

  • Lead business generation initiatives for testing and inspection services in the global steel and scrap markets.
  • Identify potential clients, industry opportunities, and partnerships to grow the steel and scrap segment.
  • Develop and execute strategies to promote Mitra SK’s services to international and domestic steel and scrap businesses.
  • Build a strong pipeline of prospects by networking with industry players, attending relevant trade shows, and leveraging existing contacts.


Client Relationship Management:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the steel and scrap industries, including suppliers, manufacturers, and traders.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for clients, offering customized testing and inspection solutions to meet their business needs.
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and engagement.
  • Market Research and Positioning:
  • Analyze global and local market trends in the steel and scrap sectors to identify business opportunities.
  • Provide insights into industry developments and competitor activities that can be used to enhance Mitra SK’s market positioning.
  • Work with the marketing team to design campaigns that highlight the company’s strengths in testing and inspection services.
  • Local Liaison and Regulatory Affairs:
  • Represent Mitra SK in interactions with governmental bodies and regulatory authorities in Delhi to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
  • Oversee local business activities and ensure that all necessary permits, certifications, and licenses are up-to-date.
  • Build and maintain local relationships to facilitate business expansion and regulatory approvals.


Financial Management and Reporting:

  • Develop and manage budgets for business development initiatives within the steel and scrap segment.
  • Track revenue growth and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of business development efforts.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on business performance and growth opportunities to senior management.



Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Metallurgy, Engineering, or a related field.



Required Skills:



  • 15+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management in the steel, scrap, or related industries.
  • Experience in testing, inspection, or quality control services is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the steel and scrap markets, as well as the testing and inspection industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and industry standards for quality control.
  • Excellent business development and sales skills, with the ability to close deals and foster long-term client relationships.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to think strategically and identify new opportunities for business growth.
