Data Governance Leadership Position

Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced professional to lead enterprise-level data governance initiatives. This role focuses on establishing governance frameworks, facilitating business workshops, and partnering with technology teams to operationalize governance using specialized tools and platforms.The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise, exceptional communication skills, and experience in setting up governance councils, policies, and AI governance practices within an enterprise environment.Lead Data Governance Initiatives: Design, implement, and institutionalize data governance frameworks, policies, and processes across business units.Facilitate Business Workshops: Conduct business workshops with enterprise clients to define governance objectives, roles, and ownership models.Establish Governance Council: Help set up and formalize the Data Governance Council — document charters, roles, responsibilities, and governance operating models.Collaborate with Technical Teams: Work with data engineering, architecture, and security teams to implement governance controls using platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog, and Informatica.Drive AI Governance: Implement and monitor AI governance principles ensuring compliance, ethical AI use, and adherence to organizational policies.Business Alignment: Understand diverse business domains — Real Estate, Retail, E-Commerce, Investment Holding, Hospitality & Entertainment, and Government Entities — to align governance frameworks with business priorities.Compliance & Security: Ensure all governance processes align with Microsoft Security and Compliance Frameworks, regulatory standards, and enterprise risk guidelines.Stakeholder Management: Partner with senior business leaders, data owners, and IT teams to drive governance adoption and maturity.Required Skills and QualificationsKey ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will possess:Strong experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Information Governance within enterprise environments.Proven ability to conduct governance business workshops and translate outcomes into actionable governance models.Experience in establishing and operationalizing governance councils and defining data ownership structures.Hands-on exposure to governance tools and technologies such as Microsoft Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog, and Informatica.Deep understanding of Microsoft's Security and Compliance Framework and its relevance to data governance.Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.Demonstrated experience working across multiple industries such as Real Estate, Retail, E-Commerce, Investment, Hospitality, and Government.Minimum 1 year of experience in AI Governance—understanding how governance principles extend to AI/ML models, data lineage, and responsible AI practices.Ability to bridge functional and technical aspects of governance and influence cross-functional teams.Preferred QualificationsAdditional desirable qualifications include:8–12 years of total experience with at least 4–5 years in Data Governance.Certifications in Data Governance, Data Management (DAMA, DCAM, CDMP), or Microsoft Data/AI certifications are an advantage.Experience working with cloud ecosystems, preferably Microsoft Azure.Excellent presentation and client engagement skills.What We OfferAt our organization, we are dedicated to creating an environment where you can thrive, both professionally and personally.
