We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that will allow you to work on multiple technologies, including API backends, credit scoring and underwriting systems, payments integrations, and operations tools.As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining scalable data architectures that integrate disparate data sources. You will build out APIs and backend systems for our frontend clients, integrate with third-party systems, help us build new financial products, and scale our backend services to ever-growing levels of traffic and complexity.The ideal candidate will have strong experience (3-8 years) of building backend software for web-based or mobile products. They will also have experience leveraging modern AI tools for efficiency and effectiveness. A strong knowledge of software development fundamentals, including relevant background in computer science fundamentals, distributed systems, data storage, and agile development methodologies, is required.Key responsibilities include:Building out APIs and backend systems for our frontend clientsIntegrating with various third-party systems, including payment systems, identity providers, and messaging platformsHelping us build new financial productsScaling our backend services to ever-growing levels of traffic and complexityTo succeed in this role, you will need to be highly entrepreneurial and thrive in taking ownership of your own impact. Excellent collaboration and communication skills are also essential.
