Database Infrastructure SpecialistSycomp is a global IT services and logistics provider with extensive expertise in cloud, data center, endpoint management and security solutions. Our team of consultants and engineers deliver on our mission to tackle challenging global IT projects through our state-of-the-art integration and warehouse centers and global technology partnerships.The Database Infrastructure Specialist will design, deploy, and maintain Exadata infrastructure. This role involves end-to-end ownership of Exadata builds—from planning and installation to operational support and handoff to database administration teams.Main Responsibilities:Leverage technical expertise to lead the deployment of new Exadata systems, including farm design and capacity planning.Prepare and manage installation artifacts such as configuration files and settings.Finalize system hostnames and IP addresses following network allocation.Update DNS entries for all Exadata components and spine/switches.Pre-Installation Activities:Open service requests and upload documentation for Oracle Enterprise Manager.Run diagnostic scripts and upload results to Oracle service requests.Create work orders for site teams to install spine switches.Coordinate with Oracle to configure spine switches.Rack Installation Preparation:Submit request for installation activities.Create work orders for Oracle to perform equipment installations.Create request for site teams to install management switches.System Build (OneCommand):Execute OneCommand to build the Exadata database environment.Onboarding & Configuration:Implement automation to configure Exadata components.Onboard components into:Service Request SystemCMSOracle Enterprise ManagerPre-Handover to DBA Team:Run diagnostics and upload output to Oracle service requests.Perform system checks.Ensure all required documentation and health checks are completed prior to handover.Operational Support:Create and manage service requests, work orders, and requests for issues or break/fix activities.Collect diagnostic data for Oracle service requests across hardware, OS, and database layers.Conduct follow-up on active service requests to ensure timely resolution.Coordinate maintenance windows and downtime with Oracle and database administration teams.Add newly built Exadata systems to Oracle Enterprise Manager monitoring.About You:We are looking for someone who can provide comprehensive technical expertise to drive the success of our Exadata infrastructure.Requirements:Essential Skills:Technical proficiency in designing, deploying, and maintaining Exadata infrastructure.Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex technical issues.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams.Desirable Skills:Additional Qualifications:Demonstrated experience working with Exadata infrastructure.Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager and other related tools.
