Job Description: Financial Analyst – Statutory & Compliance
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Analyst with expertise in Audit, Tax, and Compliance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with accounting systems and a deep understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), tax regulations, and transfer pricing. This role will focus on supporting financial audits, ensuring tax compliance, monitoring internal controls, and providing recommendations for process improvements within financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit Support & Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process, ensuring timely delivery of documentation and addressing queries related to financial reporting.
- Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with accounting standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or inconsistencies in reports.
Tax Compliance & Planning:
- Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international tax regulations, including VAT, corporate income taxes, and withholding taxes.
- Support the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns, VAT filings, and other tax-related documentation.
- Monitor developments in tax laws and regulations, providing insights and updates to management.
- Analyze the company's tax position and collaborate with the tax team on planning and strategy to optimize the overall tax structure.
Transfer Pricing:
- Assist in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and policies in compliance with international regulations.
- Analyze intercompany transactions and ensure alignment with transfer pricing regulations and guidelines.
- Work with external consultants to manage transfer pricing audits and address any adjustments or disputes.
Financial Systems & Process Improvement:
- Utilize accounting systems (ERP) to ensure accurate financial recordkeeping and reporting.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of financial systems and recommend improvements for efficiency and compliance.
- Assist in the automation and streamlining of processes to reduce errors and enhance accuracy in reporting.
Compliance Monitoring:
- Ensure adherence to all applicable financial regulations and compliance standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant compliance guidelines, including IFRS updates and tax changes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
Ad-hoc Analysis & Reporting:
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on audit findings, tax matters, and financial compliance.
- Provide financial insights and performance analysis to support business decision-making.
- Support various cross-functional teams in financial-related tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Semi qualified CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, audit, tax, and compliance roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with accounting systems (ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and relevant tax regulations.
- Expertise in transfer pricing documentation and compliance.
- Familiarity with financial auditing processes, internal controls, and reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software/tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced degree (Master's in Finance, Accounting, or related fields).
- Experience in multinational corporations with a global financial reporting and tax structure.
- Knowledge of local tax laws and regulations in multiple jurisdictions is a plus.
