Key ResponsibilitiesData engineering involves designing and implementing end-to-end data pipelines following architecture patterns.Data transformations using SQL for large-scale data processing are key to our operations.Developing dimensional data models, aggregations, and KPI calculations in analytics consumption is crucial.We need someone to implement data ingestion pipelines from multiple source systems.Data transformation logic using transformation frameworks is a requirement.Data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring across all pipeline stages are essential.RequirementsA strong background in data engineering with experience building production-grade data pipelines and writing SQL queries.Advanced SQL skills including complex queries, window functions, CTEs, and query performance tuning.A solid understanding of dimensional modelling, star schemas, and data warehousing concepts.Expertise in building data pipelines and query optimization is necessary.Proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks and automation is required.Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools: Apache Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.Familiarity with data lake storage formats: Delta Lake, Parquet, or Iceberg.Experience with data quality frameworks and implementing validation rules at scale; knowledge of Great Expectations or similar data quality testing frameworks.Deploying and managing data platforms in on-premises environments is also required.BonusA 10-week contract in Abu Dhabi offers a unique opportunity to work remotely.About This RoleThis Data Engineer position requires expertise in data engineering practices.A fully remote role that may extend beyond the contract period is available.
