Senior Database Reliability Specialist

Job Description:We're seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Senior DevOps & Database Reliability Engineer. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in strengthening our infrastructure reliability, database performance, and disaster recovery capabilities.You'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and recoverability of our databases and infrastructure. This involves designing, automating, and testing backup and disaster recovery strategies for large-scale databases and production systems.You'll also manage and optimize MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis databases for performance, scalability, and reliability. Additionally, you'll execute database version upgrades, schema migrations, and data integrity validations with minimal downtime.Furthermore, you'll implement ISO 27001:2022-aligned data protection controls, including encryption, masking, and retention policies. You'll establish and automate RTO/RPO validation and recovery testing in collaboration with DevSecOps and Compliance teams.Finally, you'll build automation for backup validation and monitoring using Terraform, Ansible, or cloud-native pipelines. You'll integrate data leakage prevention (DLP) and access control mechanisms into backup and replication flows.Requirements:A technically strong DevOps engineer with deep experience managing and securing large-scale databases.Hands-on experience with MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis in production environments, including upgrades and migrations.Experience designing and executing disaster recovery and backup strategies for critical systems.Familiarity with ISO 27001:2022 controls, encryption standards, and compliance-driven infrastructure.Ability to work across DevOps, security, and engineering teams to balance reliability, cost, and compliance.Bonus Points:Experience automating database recovery validation and DR drills.Exposure to data masking, DLP, and data encryption solutions.Prior work in ISO 27001 or SOC 2-certified environments.Familiarity with monitoring and alerting stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Wazuh, or ELK).Experience in large-scale SaaS environments handling multi-tenant databases.
