Role Overview

We are seeking a QA Lead - Network Security with extensive experience in quality assurance and a deep understanding of network security. This role involves designing, implementing, and enforcing security testing protocols for all BlockOn products, ensuring they adhere to the highest standards of quality and security. As a QA Lead, you will drive strategic quality initiatives, mentor a team of QA engineers, and work collaboratively with development, operations, and security teams. The ideal candidate is well-versed in both security protocols and QA methodologies, with a strong track record in Web3 or blockchain technology testing.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibility Description

Leadership and Team Management Lead, mentor, and guide a team of QA engineers, fostering a culture focused on quality, security, and continuous improvement within the team.

QA and Security Strategy Development Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance and security testing strategy, including both manual and automated security testing protocols, tailored to blockchain applications.

Security and Penetration Testing Conduct detailed security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing across applications, network infrastructures, and APIs to identify potential vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Test Planning and Execution Oversee the creation and execution of test plans, cases, and scripts specifically targeting network security features, performance, and blockchain-related functionalities.

Automation of Security Tests Supervise the development and maintenance of automated testing frameworks and scripts, incorporating security, functionality, and regression testing to ensure efficiency and scalability.

Defect Tracking and Resolution Accurately document, track, and prioritize defects related to security vulnerabilities and functionality, collaborating closely with development teams to facilitate swift and effective resolutions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with product, development, operations, and cybersecurity teams to ensure alignment on security objectives, and integrate QA testing within each phase of the development lifecycle.

Quality Assurance Metrics Define, measure, and analyze QA metrics, performance KPIs, and security compliance indicators to assess and improve the effectiveness of QA processes continually.

Continuous Learning and Adaptation Stay current on the latest advancements in quality assurance, cybersecurity, and blockchain technology, proactively integrating new tools, techniques, and methodologies.

Compliance and Regulatory Considerations Ensure all QA and security testing practices comply with relevant data protection laws, industry regulations, and best practices, such as GDPR, HIPAA, OWASP, and ISO 27001 standards.

Skill Description

Network Security Expertise In-depth knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and practices, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, secure network design, and vulnerability assessment methodologies.

Advanced QA Methodologies Demonstrated proficiency in QA methodologies, tools, and industry best practices, with a strong focus on both manual and automated testing tailored to blockchain applications.

Automation Testing Proficiency Expertise with automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, or Cypress, with a background in scripting automated security tests for efficiency and consistent coverage.

Programming Skills Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript for developing, customizing, and executing test scripts for both security and functionality.

Test and Defect Management Tools Experience with test management and defect-tracking tools, such as JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr, for comprehensive test planning and defect resolution management.

Compliance and Security Standards Knowledge of industry security standards and compliance protocols, including OWASP, ISO 27001, and NIST, along with practical experience in implementing these standards.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities Strong analytical skills to assess complex test results, identify root causes, and drive actionable solutions to improve quality and security.

Team Leadership Proven track record in leading, motivating, and mentoring QA teams, with effective interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Skill Description

Penetration Testing Tools Proficiency with penetration testing tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, and Nessus for advanced vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.

Mobile and Web3 Security Testing Experience with security testing on mobile platforms (iOS and Android) and blockchain/Web3 applications, ensuring security across diverse environments.

Database Security Solid understanding of database security measures, including data encryption and SQL injection prevention, ensuring end-to-end application security.

CI/CD Integration Practical experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, and CircleCI, with a focus on embedding automated security testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Regulatory Compliance Knowledge Familiarity with data protection regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS, ensuring alignment with data privacy and compliance requirements.

Educational Requirements:

● Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

● Certifications (Preferred):

○ Certified Software Tester (CST)

○ Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

○ ISTQB Certified Tester

○ Blockchain-related certifications or security qualifications like CISSP or CISM are advantageous.

Experience Requirements:

● Professional Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in Quality Assurance, with a focus on network security and a proven track record in Web3, blockchain, or fintech sectors.

● Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience in leading and managing QA teams, with a focus on security testing in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

● Project Experience: Hands-on experience with complex application testing for blockchain platforms and distributed applications, both in development and production environments.
