Key Responsibilities:

Governance:

  • Implement, and manage the organization's information security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure they align with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Track and monitor the status of security governance initiatives.

Risk Management:

  • Monitor & measure the risk management process to the organization's information assets.
  • Monitor the risk treatment plans to mitigate or reduce the impact of identified risks.
  • Perform periodic security risk assessments, including vendor and third-party risk evaluations, to ensure alignment with the organization’s risk appetite.
  • Collaborate with various departments to implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks and industry standards such as ISO 27001, SOC2, PCI-DSS and others.
  • Manage audits and assessments, including both internal audits and those conducted by third parties.
  • Maintain compliance-related documentation and ensure that required records, policies, and procedures are up to date.

Internal Audits and Assessments:

  • Support internal security audits to assess the effectiveness of controls and the organization’s adherence to policies.
  • Ensure audit findings are addressed and remediated in a timely manner.

Incident Management:

  • Collaborate with the incident response team to ensure incidents are handled in compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies.
  • Ensure that post-incident reviews identify areas for improvement and that lessons learned are incorporated into the organization’s risk management framework.

External Skills And Expertise

  • Education: Any graduate in Science stream or a technical diploma holder. Masters will be an added advantage.
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in Governance, Risk, and Compliance roles within Information Security.

Key Skills:

  • Strong Knowledge of GRC Frameworks: understanding of GRC frameworks such as ISO 27001 and Other equivalent standards.
  • Risk Management Expertise: Proficiency in monitoring and managing risks in an information security environment.
  • Audit Skills: Experience in conducting or supporting internal and external audits, including the ability to address audit findings and track remediation efforts.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including Development, Infrastructure (AWS), HR..etc and senior management, to drive GRC initiatives.
