This role involves working closely with our engineering team to set up, run, and validate CFD cases involving external aerodynamics of wings, airfoils, and aircraft configurations.The responsibilities include performing CFD simulations using OpenFOAM for external aerodynamic applications (airfoils, wings, aircraft geometries), generating structured and unstructured meshes using blockMesh and snappyHexMesh, setting up incompressible and compressible flow solvers, boundary conditions, and turbulence models, conducting mesh independence studies, simulation validation, and result verification, extracting and analyzing aerodynamic performance metrics such as lift coefficient (CL), drag coefficient (CD), pressure distributions, and flow visualization, post-processing results using ParaView or similar tools, collaborating with engineering teams to design, optimize, and evaluate aerodynamic concepts, and documenting simulations, results, and workflow methodologies.
