Cyber Security ProfessionalThe Cyber Security role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including designing and implementing security systems to safeguard organizational networks, applications, and data.Security Architecture & Implementation:Design, deploy, and manage cybersecurity technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint protection, and SIEM tools to ensure robust security measures are in place.Implement controls for cloud, network, application, and endpoint environments to mitigate potential threats.Develop and maintain secure system configurations and hardening guidelines to prevent vulnerabilities.Threat Detection & Incident Response:Monitor security alerts and logs to identify potential security incidents and take proactive measures to prevent them from escalating.Investigate security incidents and lead response efforts to minimize the impact on the organization.Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to address identified weaknesses.Vulnerability Management:Conduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration tests to identify areas of improvement.Identify risks and collaborate with IT/engineering teams to remediate vulnerabilities and ensure the integrity of organizational assets.Maintain and update the risk register to reflect changing security landscapes.Policy, Compliance & Governance:Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards that align with regulatory frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards to protect organizational reputation and interests.Conduct security awareness training for employees to promote a culture of security within the organization.Identity & Access Management:Manage IAM tools and enforce least-privilege access controls to ensure sensitive data is protected.Oversee multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, and privileged access management solutions to enhance security posture.Collaboration & Documentation:Work closely with IT, DevOps, and engineering teams to maintain secure environments and foster a culture of collaboration.Prepare detailed security reports, incident summaries, and audit documentation to facilitate decision-making and drive continuous improvement.Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning to ensure organizational resilience.
