We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud DevOps Engineer with 4-5 years of expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design, implement, and manage robust cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of GCP services, DevOps best practices, and automation tools. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure scalability, security, and high availability of cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Google Cloud Infrastructure Management
  • Design, implement, and manage GCP resources, including Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), Cloud Run, and BigQuery.
  • Optimize GCP infrastructure for cost efficiency, performance, and scalability.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Deployment Manager, or Pulumi.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Development
  • Build, automate, and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GCP-native tools like Cloud Build or third-party tools like Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD.
  • Enable seamless deployment of applications to GCP environments, ensuring rollback strategies and deployment safety.
  • Monitoring & Reliability
  • Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using GCP-native tools like Stackdriver Monitoring, Logging, and Error Reporting.
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies across critical systems in GCP.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Automation & Scripting
  • Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, or Go for operational efficiency.
  • Automate repetitive cloud tasks, such as provisioning, scaling, and configuration management.
  • Security & Compliance
  • Implement GCP security best practices, including IAM (Identity and Access Management), VPC network security, firewall rules, and data encryption.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and ensure compliance with standards like ISO 27001, GDPR, or SOC 2 using GCP security tools.
  • Collaboration & Communication
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and product teams to design scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions.
  • Participate in Agile workflows, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
  • Document GCP architecture, workflows, and operational guidelines to promote knowledge sharing within the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 4-5 years of experience in Cloud DevOps engineering or a related role, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform.
  • GCP Expertise:
  • Hands-on experience with GCP services, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, GKE, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, and Pub/Sub.
  • Strong understanding of GCP networking concepts like VPC, subnetting, and peering.
  • IaC Tools: Proficiency in Terraform, Deployment Manager, or Pulumi.
  • CI/CD Tools: Experience with Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes, particularly on GKE.
  • Scripting Skills: Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, Node or Go for automation and tooling.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Knowledge of GCP monitoring tools like Stackdriver and integration with Prometheus or Grafana.
  • Version Control: Proficiency with Git and branching strategies.
  • Security Best Practices: Experience with IAM, service accounts, firewall rules, and GCP Shielded VMs.

Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on experience with GCP AI/ML services like AI Platform or Dataflow.
  • Familiarity with serverless computing using Cloud Functions or Cloud Run.
  • GCP certifications, such as Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Understanding of hybrid cloud or multi-cloud strategies.
  • Experience with implementing DevSecOps practices in GCP.
