About us:
Filter Coffee is a new age research and media company that’s on a mission to make business news fun and inspiring for young readers in India.
Our first product is a daily newsletter that covers the hottest and the latest in global business and technology, and goes out to thousands of subscribers every day.
We’re based in Mumbai. We’re advised by some of the most successful entrepreneurs, investors, analysts from India and around the world.
About the role:
We’re looking to solidify our content team with an exceptional writer who has unique experience covering the business news media landscape.
Traditional business news coverage in India tends to be too dry and full of jargon, boring everyday readers. Young professionals seek high quality content, but in a voice that is friendly and in a bite sized format.
We’re looking for a writer with 4 to 6 years or more of business news media experience (in print or other), that can support our news curation operation, and contribute to our team that churns out deliverables across multiple products. You will need to have a deep passion for writing and for business strategy.
Primary responsibilities:
Key senior member of a team of 5 writers, analysts, and text based content creators working on our daily email-first content product
Check various sources for interesting news happenings and form independent opinions
Summarize two or more stories per day in a way that is fun, engaging, and entertaining for younger millennial and Gen Z readers
Guide junior writers in their content building processes
Help the team keep a pulse on the broader technology, business and venture landscape – in India as well as key global markets
Be vocal on social media and help with Filter Coffee’s organic outreach
Work closely with our growth team for social media content
Write long form research reports and deep dives on industry trends
Basic requirements
Basic college education or equivalent evidence of success/work
4-6 years of business or financial journalism/media/content writing experience with a top standard media platform, investment manager, or business research vendor
Strong understanding and interest in India’s technology and Venture industry
Exceptional English language writing skills
Roll-up-sleeves hustler looking to grow as fast as possible
