Position: Data Scientist (Risk strategy, SME)About the roleAs a key member of our credit risk strategy team, you will utilize your analytical and problem-solving skills to develop innovative risk management strategies that drive business growth. These strategies will support clients' credit and fraud risk, customer experience, marketing verticals, and beyond.By joining our team, you will play a vital role in staying aligned with market trends by improving the turnaround time for developing and implementing risk strategies. This enables us to quickly adapt to changing business challenges through data-driven methods.The core objectives of this position include generating additional revenue and reducing costs through efficient releases. This role also supports compliance, documentation, and knowledge sharing in risk strategies.Develop, validate, and deploy sophisticated risk management strategies using a combination of advanced data analytics and domain expertise.Extract and explore data, ensuring its integrity, performing ad hoc analysis, and evaluating new data sources for strategy development.Maintain robust documentation of approach and techniques used, including objectives, assumptions, performance, weaknesses, and limitations.Stay up-to-date with new tools, libraries, technologies, and platforms, adapting them into our workflow.Actively partner with engineers to validate and deploy scalable solutions.Collaborate to gather insight from partners across the organization.Further develop expertise in data science and engineering through self-study, project exposure, and senior team member guidance.What We're Looking ForWe are seeking an experienced data scientist with a strong background in quantitative fields such as computer science, data science, engineering, economics, or mathematics. An advanced degree is preferred. Key qualifications include:3+ years of data science experience.2+ years in financial services.Experience building and implementing risk strategies in production environments.Deep understanding of segmentation techniques such as decision trees.Experience in banking sectors with exposure to risk management analytics.Proficiency in Python programming language.Proficiency in SQL database management.Practical experience with Spark is a plus.Understanding of statistical modeling techniques is a plus.Technical understanding of algorithm complexity, probability, and statistics.Self-motivation with an aptitude for independent research and problem-solving.Ability to multitask in fast-paced environments.
