Database Design and Development ExpertWe are seeking a highly skilled database expert to join our team. As a Database Design and Development Expert, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance databases that power our user-facing applications.Design and implement efficient database schemas, queries, views, triggers, and stored procedures.Optimise database performance through indexing, query tuning, caching, and load balancing.Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate the database effectively within Node.js services.Contribute to backend development when required using JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and Express.js.Ensure data integrity, security, backups, and high availability.Support system design discussions and propose scalable database solutions.Troubleshoot database-related issues and drive root-cause analysis.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve overall application performance.Requirements3–6 years of dedicated hands-on experience with MySQL—including query writing, optimisation, schema design, and performance improvements.Strong understanding of relational database concepts, normalisation, indexing strategies, and execution plans.Experience working on high-scale, high-growth product-based companies (mandatory).Ability to design efficient, scalable database structures for B2C applications.Strong analytical mindset—able to understand why a certain approach is more optimal, not just how to implement it.Experience working in fast-paced startup environments where performance and speed matter.Familiarity with database monitoring tools and performance dashboards.Experience optimising systems for speed, scalability, and reliability.
