Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Bridge Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for undertaking assessments of existing bridges and preparing reports with assessment/design experience in Steel Composite, Pretension / Posttension structures.You will carry out feasibility studies for strengthening and repair, prepare new bridge design and strengthening design to UK standards ensuring compliance with appropriate design and health and safety standards and procedures. Additionally, you will conduct design and assessment checks under the guidance of a Senior or Principal Engineer.You will prepare or assist others in compiling drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence within given deadlines, including checking compliance with the project brief. You will also follow QA, document control, archiving & CDM guidelines on all work.In this role, you will ensure the correct implementation of document control and QA processes are followed for issue and filing/archiving of all work carried out. You will produce work to specified design standards, suggest revisions to standards as appropriate, and ensure all relevant standards and guides are used in accordance with UK Design standards and WSP QA processes.You will use calculation templates and ensure calculation sheets comply with WSP standards. You will also use technical libraries and information systems to assist design work. Furthermore, you will ensure only the latest version (unless specifically required by AIP) of British and European Standards are used.You will continually strive to develop and increase skills in MIDAS, LUSAS, Superstress, SAM, ARCHIE, and share knowledge with immediate colleagues and the rest of the team.This is an excellent opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality projects.
