AI Engineer Job DescriptionWe are seeking an exceptional AI engineer to join our team and lead the development of the core intelligence behind a cutting-edge research platform.Job ResponsibilitiesDesign and Implement AI Systems: Build and optimize semantic search pipelines, graph-based retrieval, and agentic systems to enable efficient academic research.Develop Scalable APIs: Design and deploy scalable APIs and services capable of serving hundreds of concurrent requests, handling real-world academic workloads.Vector Database Expertise: Architect, implement, and productionize vector databases and embedding-based retrieval systems for high-performance search engine applications.GenAI Integrations: Work on GenAI integrations including react agents, graph agents, prompt engineering, and LLM orchestration to drive innovation in AI-powered research tools.Full-Stack Search Engines: Set up full-stack search engines from scratch, leveraging expertise in backend development with Python and ability to build scalable APIs and services.Research Infrastructure: Contribute directly to the infrastructure that makes cutting-edge science more efficient, impacting thousands of researchers worldwide.RequirementsStrong Background: Strong background in semantic search, vector databases, LLM frameworks, agent-based systems, and document retrieval.Backend Development: Skilled in Python for backend development with the ability to build scalable APIs and services.Past Experience: Past experience deploying systems at scale, including search engines, retrieval pipelines, or embedding models.Concurrency Handling: Ability to design infrastructure that serves hundreds of concurrent requests.API Hosting: Experience setting up and hosting APIs with public access while balancing speed, cost, and reliability.Research Mindset: Research-driven and pragmatic mindset with a focus on measurable outcomes.BenefitsThis is a hands-on role with real ownership.
