Senior API Engineer OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Senior API Engineer to lead the design, implementation and operation of our Enterprise AI API platform. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to build a scalable, secure and robust API ecosystem using IBM's API management technologies.Develop APIs using IBM API Connect, DataPower gateways or equivalent API management platformsDefine governance policies for API authentication/authorization (OAuth2, API-key, JWT), rate limits, quotas, versioning and lifecycle managementManage the API gateway: routing, transformation, orchestration, protocol mediation (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) and traffic controlPublish APIs, onboard internal/external consumers, documentation and self-service subscription through the developer portalMonitor API usage, performance, latency and error metrics; analyze usage patterns and production issuesHandle API security and resilience: secure back-end integrations, payload validation, threat mitigation and high-availabilityFamiliarity with AWS cloud services like API Gateway, S3 and EKS is beneficialStay up-to-date with API management best practices, emerging protocols (GraphQL, WebSockets) and evolving IBM tool capabilitiesBecome part of a dynamic team driving innovation in API management and stay ahead of industry trends.
