Job OverviewWe're looking for a skilled Search Engineer to join our team. As a Search Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing search solutions using OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.The ideal candidate will have experience with AI/ML/LLM powered search experiences, Python programming, and index template management.This is a unique opportunity to architect the backbone of our data engine from scratch.You'll work closely with our data engineers and product teams to deliver high-quality search experiences.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement search solutions using OpenSearch/ElasticsearchDevelop custom query builders and search pipelines tailored to complex business requirementsLeverage LLMs and AI for data enrichment and improved search relevanceDevelop and maintain robust APIs for search using Python (FastAPI)Lead efforts in integration, regression, and performance testing to ensure reliability and accuracy of search featuresAutomate deployment and management of search infrastructureRequirements5+ years experience with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch in production environmentsExperience with AI/LLM-based search experiences such as RAG, learning to rank and query understandingExpert level expertise in Python, with experience building APIs (preferably FastAPI)Deep understanding of search concepts: analysers, tokenisers, relevance tuning, custom scoring, and query DSLExperience with index template management, lifecycle policies, and large-scale data modellingProficiency in designing and optimising search pipelines and custom query buildersMust have practical hands-on experience developing software using AI-assisted tools and workflowsStrong testing background: integration, regression, and performance testingDevOps skills: automation, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)Excellent communication and collaboration skillsExperience with S3, AWS Lambda, and cloud-native architecturesWhat We OfferGreen-field impact - architect the backbone of our data engine from scratchRemote-first flexibility - work anywhere in India and set core hours that suit your lifeSmall senior team - less bureaucracy, quicker decisions, visible resultsA collaborative, innovative, and supportive team cultureHow to Apply
