About the RoleWe are seeking a seasoned engineering leader to spearhead our remote team in India. As the Head of Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling our engineering capabilities across Asia.In this key position, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing system architecture and design, ensuring scalable and secure solutions for consumer-facing platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Building: Establish and lead high-functioning engineering teams, focusing on recruitment, onboarding, and mentorship to ensure long-term success and retention.System Architecture: Own and oversee system architecture and design, driving modern practices in coding, testing, and deployment.Process Development: Establish and manage the engineering development process, promoting cutting-edge practices in coding, testing, and deployment.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Business) to deliver impactful solutions.Cloud-Native Development: Drive cloud-native development and ensure platform reliability, high performance, and scalability to meet rapid growth needs.About the OpportunityYou will have the opportunity to work with a high-growth FinTech business, publicly listed on the NASDAQ, that is expanding its engineering capabilities across Asia. You will have the autonomy to build and scale a high-functioning team from the ground up.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and scale engineering teams, leading recruitment, onboarding, and mentorship to ensure long-term success and retention.Own and oversee system architecture and design, ensuring scalable and secure solutions for consumer-facing platforms.Establish and manage the engineering development process, driving modern practices in coding, testing, and deployment.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Business) to deliver impactful solutions.Drive cloud-native development.Ensure platform reliability, high performance, and scalability to meet rapid growth needs.Preferred Experience8+ years in software engineering, with at least 2+ years in an engineering management role (preferably remote teams).Proven startup experience: ability to thrive in 0→1 and high-growth environments.Hands-on experience in recruiting engineers, building onboarding programs, and creating successful teams.Background in marketplace businesses or insurance technology is highly desirable.Expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and modern cloud architectures.Tech StackLanguages:, NodeJS, Java, PythonInfrastructure: Kafka, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, AWSCloud-native architectures and distributed systemsNote: Some parts of the description were shortened to fit within the 7000 token limit while maintaining essential details.
