Job Title: Assessor, FC Investigative Reporting QAPurpose of the role  Ensure accurate completion of quality assurance reviews for Investigative Reporting as required and directed in line with the FCI Quality Assurance process as set out in the Global FCI Quality Assurance Instructions. Ensure the timely distribution and accurate recording of QA outcomes in support of associated MI, escalating issues as and when identified and required. Contribute to the effective and compliant implementation and sustainable day to day execution of the FCI Quality Assurance process. Support the on-going development of FCI QA contributing to coverage of all Investigative Reporting as required and directed.Governance and Committee Memberships The role holder will ensure fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do. The role holder will be expected to manage their own workload with limited supervision and direction, ensuring the accurate completion of allocated QA sampling per month, along with the accurate and timely recording of case outcomes.The role holder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by compliance with all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity.Also, and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulatorsIn this role, you will:Complete quality assurance reviews in accordance with the Global FCI Quality Assurance Instructions and ensure their application to all areas covered by QA within Investigative Reporting (InvR).Exercise judgement to ensure identified issues and queries impacting case outcomes are escalated as and when appropriate.Ensure accurate and timely output of QA, ensuring results are accurately recorded within UCM and associated files and folders that support MI production. Analyse information gathered to develop recommendations for improvement and changes in current policies. Ensure insights into gaps discovered as part of the quality assurance process are communicated to appropriate management.Maintain current knowledge of regulations applicable to the business, any business changes as well as pertinent internal regulatory policy and procedural changes.Ensure awareness of Group policy and FIM's in relation to their impact on Investigations within InvR/TriageAll QA work is completed to standards set within Global FCI Quality Assurance Instructions applying Global and local knowledge for the areas being assessed and as directed within InvR.All QA work is accurately recorded within UCM and associated files and folders that support MI production.Judgement is displayed to exercise issues and queries impacting case outcomes as and when appropriate. Leadership & Teamwork Be able to work both independently and in team-oriented contexts, sharing best practice and taking ownership for self-development.Provide feedback and recommendations to management to contribute to improved quality and efficiency of area activities.Help cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand, thereby contributing towards high employee engagement and motivation.Performance against ObjectivesCustomers / stakeholdersDevelop and maintain a collaborative working relationship with relevant FCI and key business stakeholders both internal and external.Provide clear, accurate and timely advice and support, as directed, to FCI QA and Investigations within InvR and relevant business teams.Engage with Investigations within InvR and other relevant functions to represent FCI QA as directed.Management ObservationPerformance against ObjectivesInternal and external feedbackStakeholder's feedbackOperational Effectiveness & ControlsPromote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and observe the Group Compliance Policy, including adherence (as directed) with recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators.Highlight where processes could be improved or simplified.All QA must be predicated by a risk-based approach and any fail outcomes must clearly articulate the underlying procedure which has not been met.All QA work is completed to standards set within FCI QA Instructions, applying Global and Local instruction knowledge for area being assessed within InvR.All applicable SLAs and targets associated with FCI QA work are met.Management FeedbackPerformance against ObjectivesMajor ChallengesMaintain a non-confrontational approach to dealing with challenging situations and conversations, focusing on developing consistent and positive stakeholder/staff engagement and adopting an approach that ultimately encourages and facilitates de-escalation and resolution to challenging situations.The delivery and adherence to the FCI QA model as directed by Global and Regional teams and as it applies to the business areas QA cover, specifically InvR.Take personal responsibility for daily monitoring of workload, tracking against overall sample size contribution, ensuring accurate recording of QA outcomes on all applicable systems, files and folders in support of MI.The appointee must ensure all our work is underpinned by clear understanding and application of the Instructions. In particular, all casework must be predicated by a risk-based approach and outcomes must clearly articulate the risk assessment of the case.Strong communication skills, verbal and written, together with a numerate, detail orientated approach and Financial Crime Investigation experience is critical in the production of robust, risk-based QA assessments.To be successful you will:12 months' minimum prior experience as a Financial Crime Investigator or SCH trained/accredited is essential.Prior experience in Quality Assurance is desirable.Knowledge of Financial products, services, operations, systems and working knowledge of laws, regulations and regulatory agencies related to UK Market is desirable.Good working knowledge of the AML, Sanctions and other financial crime related regulatory environment.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in addition to a numerate, detail orientated approach is critical to the production of robust risk-based QA assessments.Ability to manage stakeholders in challenging circumstances and environments.Degree level education is an advantage.Certification in a professional association such as the Association of Certified Anti- Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) or International Compliance Association (ICA) is an advantage. You'll achieve more at HSBC HSBC is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and opinions count.
