Job Title: Data Compliance SpecialistDaskalos Technologies is seeking an experienced legal professional to oversee data protection, compliance, audits, and operational management across its physical campuses in India.This role will involve collaboration with Daskalos' cross-functional teams and external partners, including universities, clients, and vendors. The Senior Associate, Data Compliance will be responsible for coordinating and managing data privacy issues and risks across Daskalos's operations.Key Responsibilities:Develop and Implement Compliance Strategies: Create campus-wide data protection strategies aligned with Indian data protection laws (the Digital Personal Data Protection Act) and relevant international regulations.Conduct Regular Audits: Perform regular data protection audits across all campuses; identify risks, recommend remediation measures, and track progress.Coordinate Data Handling: Work with operational teams to ensure robust processes for handling student, lead, faculty member, and employee personal data. Provide strategic advice on data protection issues.Draft and Review Policies: Draft, review, and update data protection policies, procedures, and notices tailored for educational settings.Negotiate Contracts: Review and negotiate customer and vendor contracts, including drafting and negotiating data processing agreements.Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments: Evaluate the potential impact of data protection decisions on individuals and organizations.Deliver Training and Awareness: Organize and deliver ongoing data protection awareness and training for employees and faculty members.Manage Subject Requests: Respond to data subject requests and complaints concerning data protection.Stay Updated on Regulations: Monitor regulatory updates and sector trends to ensure prompt adoption of necessary operational changes.Support Incident Management: Support incident management, data breach response, and communication with regulatory authorities.Monitor Developments: Monitor developments in global regulations, legislature, and data protection best practices, and advise on necessary changes.
