ARKO’s India Operations will be an integrated global hub focused on driving technology innovation, thereby giving you the opportunity to work on cutting-edge solutions to solve complex challenges for our business and our customers.ARKO is the sixth largest convenience store operator in the United States, and operates more than 3,800 sites across its retail, wholesale, and fleet segments.Position: Senior Staff Accountant Department:Accounting FLSA Status: Exempt Job summary:The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for performing high level accounting tasks, detailed analysis, general ledger entries and account reconciliations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and practices. Essential duties and responsibilities:Performs senior level accounting tasksEnsure the transactions of the business have been properly accounted for and accurately reflected in the financial statementsAnalyze financial data and use independent judgment for purposes of identifying variances, when possible, resolving accounting operating system issues, compiling statistical information, and developing procedures to improve current processes Research a wide variety of financial topics to provide information or recommendations that impact the organizations operationsResponsible for general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and practicesConform and adhere to internal controls over accounting procedures as set forth by upper managementInterfaces frequently with various levels within the organizationJob requirements and qualifications:Minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting / finance5+ years of General Ledger Accounting and reconciliation experience in a corporate environmentThorough understanding of GAAPProficient in the utilization of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and Outlook) Ability to multi-task and complete projects within specific deadlinesExperience completing detailed accounting schedulesAbility to read and understand P&L statementsStrong computer, presentation, and organizational skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDetail oriented with excellent time management skillsExperience in lease accounting is preferred but not required.
