Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced .NET Core Migration Lead to spearhead the migration of a large-scale enterprise application from .NET Framework 4.5.2 to .NET Core 8 with React on the front-end. The solution comprises 57 project files, and we are currently focusing on migrating the Business Layer, with a goal to deliver this by mid-December.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in .NET Core migration, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of developers to migrate the existing application from .NET Framework 4.5.2 to .NET Core 8.
  • Break down the project into tasks, create a detailed migration plan, and assign tasks to team members.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers.
  • Conduct code reviews, ensure best practices, and ensure that migrated components meet performance and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other teams (QA, DevOps, Frontend) to ensure seamless integration and testing.
  • Ensure delivery of the Business Layer module by the mid-December deadline.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during the migration process.
  • Regularly update stakeholders on progress, roadblocks, and potential risks.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on .NET Framework and .NET Core.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team of developers.
  • Hands-on experience in migrating enterprise applications to .NET Core, preferably to version 8.
  • Strong proficiency in C#, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, and related technologies.
  • Experience with React.js for front-end development.
  • Proficient in working with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and Git.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and modern software development practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and DevOps pipelines.
  • Familiarity with unit testing frameworks and test-driven development (TDD).
  • Experience in working with large solutions containing multiple projects.
  • Previous experience in working with Agile methodologies.
