They should be able to design scalable systems, assess technology stacks, manage delivery teams, and maintain healthy codebases. Additionally, experience with infrastructure as code (IaC), observability, DevSecOps, and domain-driven design is highly valued.Required skills include advanced system design capabilities, proficiency in Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, Serverless, and Hexagonal/Clean Architecture, as well as a working understanding of the CAP Theorem, ACID vs. BASE consistency models, Idempotency, and consensus algorithms. Strong communication skills and the ability to negotiate 'refactoring vs. feature work' with stakeholders are also essential.
