Job Title:IT Infrastructure SpecialistOverviewThe IT infrastructure specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of an organization's internal systems and networks.Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure & Systems ManagementEnsure effective management of on-premises IT assets, including switches, routers, Wi-Fi, servers, and user devices.Maintain reliable LAN/WAN setup, VPN, and remote connectivity.Oversee hardware lifecycle management, including procurement, tagging, deployment, and disposal.Develop and maintain comprehensive backup and disaster recovery plans.Network OperationsMonitor and optimize network performance to ensure high uptime and redundancy.Configure and maintain VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and access control for secure network operations.Troubleshoot connectivity issues quickly and implement proactive monitoring.Collaborate with ISPs and vendors for service quality and escalations.Security & ComplianceImplement and enforce robust security policies, including endpoint protection, MFA, patching, and access management.Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts.Develop and document comprehensive IT policies, including password management, device usage, BYOD, and compliance readiness for frameworks like ISO 27001 or SOC2.Automation & Process ImprovementUtilize scripting tools like PowerShell or Bash to automate recurring administrative tasks.Develop basic monitoring dashboards to track device health, bandwidth usage, and patch status.Optimize IT ticket resolution and user support workflow processes.Team & Vendor ManagementSupervise IT support staff or vendors handling device setup and troubleshooting.Manage vendor relationships, including procurement, renewals, and SLAs.Train users on IT best practices and security awareness.Additional ResponsibilitiesContinuously evaluate and improve IT processes to align with business objectives.Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.
