Job Title: Senior Backend engineer, Contractor (3-4 Months with possible extension)
Location: Chennai, India (In-Person/Hybrid). Chennai location is a must have. This is not a Fully remote position.
About Us:
Join our innovative startup team in Chennai, where we’re building state-of-the-art technology solutions from the ground up. We’re looking for an experienced backend engineer to help us establish a scalable, production-ready backend service. This is a 3-4 month contract role with the potential for long-term collaboration, where you’ll work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver a seamless product experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up end-to-end, scalable, production-ready backend services on cloud infrastructure.
- Oversee DevOps, backend services, database management, logging, and monitoring
- Implement best practices to ensure performance and maintainability of code
- Implement advanced features like authentication, SSO, high availability, database backup.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend development (8+ is highly desirable)
- Strong DevOps skills with experience in managing deployments and ensuring system reliability
- Proficiency in backend development using Python or Node.js
- Skilled in working with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgresSQL, dynamodb, and Elasticsearch.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider, such as Azure, AWS
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with Machine Learning or LLM tools is a plus
- Familiarity with MLops frameworks, such as Mlflow, Kubeflow, and Ray is a plus
- Experience with logging and monitoring tools, such as Grafana and Prometheus.
- Experience with microservice platforms, such as Docker-compose and Kubernetes.
- Experience building backend services for ML and LLM based enterprise solutions
