This is currently a remote/hybrid role.
Summary:
We are seeking a Freelance Data Engineer to support our team by developing scraping solutions which are compliant with legal and ethical standards in web scraping practices and that will gather data from various sources. This data will enhance our Power BI reports and overall business intelligence efforts. The project is already underway, and we are looking for someone to join and contribute to its success
Responsibilities:
● Develop and implement scraping scripts to extract data from multiple websites, including job boards and company career pages.
● Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in web scraping practices.
● Schedule and automate web scraping tasks using Azure services, such as: Azure Logic Apps,Azure Functions and Azure Scheduler
● Clean and structure collected data for seamless integration into Power BI reports.
● Collaborate with data scientists and finance analysts to align scraped data with business and analytical requirements.
● Troubleshoot and optimise scraping scripts as websites change or update.
● Document the web scraping processes and methodologies used.
Requirements:
● Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role;
● Proficiency in web scraping libraries, particularly Selenium (preferred).
● Experience with headless mode web scraping in Google Colab.
● Experience in scheduling and automating scraping tasks using Azure, specifically Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Azure Scheduler.
● Web Technologies: Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and API interactions.
● Data Integration: Proven experience with data transformation and integration into data platforms like Power BI.
● AI Expertise: Hands-on experience in training and tuning AI models, particularly using Gemini and OpenAI.
● Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
Education and Qualifications:
● BE/BTECH/MTECH/ME/MCA in Computer Science or a related field.
● 2+ years of experience with Python, Java, and , SQL;
● 1 Year of experience in NLP
● 1 Year Experience in Microsoft Azure
● 1 Year Experience in Google Gemini/ Open AI Model Tuning and Prompt Engineering
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English;
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
● Ability to meet tight deadlines;
