Define and implement standards for modeling, testing, documentation, and deployment.Technical Leadership: Lead, mentor, and coach a team of data analysts and engineers in DBT best practices. Conduct code reviews and foster a culture of excellence.Own the Core Platform: Manage and optimize our DBT Cloud/CLI environment, CI/CD pipelines, and integration with Snowflake/BigQuery/etc.Drive Efficiency: Implement and advocate for software engineering best practices in our data stack (version control, modular code, testing, and documentation).Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, and analytics engineers to understand requirements and deliver robust, scalable data models.What We're Looking For:7+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2+ years as a hands-on DBT expert.Proven experience leading a DBT project at scale (e.g., managing multiple contributors, complex dependencies, and performance tuning).Deep knowledge of SQL, data modeling (Kimball, Data Vault), and modern data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.).Hands-on experience setting up and managing CI/CD for DBT and proficiency with Git.Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and mentor team members.
