About the TeamThe Data Platform Tech Team at Navi is instrumental in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. We build and manage the core infrastructure and tools required to collect, store, process, and analyze data at scale. Our platforms support self-serve capabilities for both batch and real-time data processing. We work closely with Analytics, Data Science, and Product teams to power a wide range of data use cases across Navi.About the RoleAs an SDE-3 on the Data Platform team at Navi, you'll design and build large-scale systems powering web events, analytics, and real-time data pipelines. You'll lead backend development, contribute to platform architecture, and solve complex data problems. This is a high-impact IC role with strong cross-functional collaboration and mentorship opportunities.What We Expect From YouDesign, develop, and maintain backend services, data pipelines, and batch/realtime datasets related to web events and analyticsStrong proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Java, Python, ScalaExpertise in object-oriented design, design patterns, and data structuresLead the development of new foundational capabilities in support of enabling our users to interact with, analyze, and derive insights from their dataSolve complex and challenging problems in the intersection between low latency, high correctness, and full determinismParticipate in code reviews, provide mentorship to junior team members, and enforce coding standardsInvestigate, diagnose, and resolve software defects and issues, ensuring a high level of product qualityContribute to the overall architecture and design of data platform frameworksStrong interpersonal skills, showcasing effective stakeholder management with product and design teamsA minimum of 5 years of software development experienceMust HavesFamiliarity with modern data lakehouse architectures and related technologies (e.g. Spark, Flink, Kafka, Trino)Prior experience in on-prem data-platform is preferredDemonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new and complex development environments, along with strong deep-dive analytical skillsPrevious success in mentoring and guiding junior engineersInside NaviWe are shaping the future of financial services for a billion Indians through products that are simple, accessible, and affordable.
