The GWA is ranked number 3 globally according to OVUM’s Managed/Maintained End-user Devices with a total of 10M assets.About the RoleAs part of the global operations team working from within the EU, the role will be reporting into the DBA team leader. It will require interaction with various support teams within Managed Services such as OS, Storage and Virtualization team as well as non-technical teams such as Service Desk, Change Management and the Project Management Office. The role has no direct reports.ResponsibilitiesTo support and maintain Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL database instancesTo provide DBA Support to project, development and infrastructure teamsTo ensure that all SLA’s are maintainedRespond to all Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL related incidentsAssist the team with proactive improvements to internal processesMentoring and coaching other members of the teamTo participate in the change control processTo participate in the team’s out-of-hours on-call support Required SkillsExtensive database administration experience in Oracle. Ideally the applicant will have at least 4+ years’ experience working with Oracle and MySQL, with at least 2 years in a production environmentExtensive experience of Linux / UNIX Operating SystemsExperience of working with High Availability solutions such as Oracle RAC, MySQL NDB, Inorb, DRBDWorking knowledge of Oracle Dataguard and ASMWorking knowledge of MySQL replication topologies, such as master/master, master/slaveExperience with Disaster Recovery solutions.A good understanding of virtualization technologiesA good understanding of storage technologies
